JOB TITLE: Director of Procurement (India & RoW Regions)
BUSINESS UNIT: our client Metals and Minerals
DEPARTMENT: Procurement
1. JOB PURPOSE
Provide the indirect management of the requisitioning and direct management and responsibility of the
ordering of goods and services for the our client Metals & Minerals India and ROW facilities. This includes
the management of a department of Procurement Managers and Buyers through the initiation and
implementation of robust and efficient sourcing solutions and strategies along with resolution of -operational
issues. The role is jointly responsible for the sourcing of services and materials along with the global
sourcing team. Such sourcing will provide our client Metals & Minerals with increased value for money,
competitive terms and conditions along with reduced risk. Post contractual supplier relationship and
development is key to the long term goals.
2. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shape the Procurement and Sourcing Strategies for India and ROW spend. Develop and execute an
integrated strategy for leveraging and optimizing procurement resources, initiatives and suppliers
between the regions. Lead procurement strategy to reduce lead-time, improve delivery and reduce
cost.
• Develop and direct the execution of effective cost savings initiatives. Effective communication of cost
savings initiatives through leadership participation and reporting globally and regionally.
• Management of Procurement Managers and Buyers for the region ensuring continuous improvement
of team.
• Internal relationship management across all levels of the business ensuring high internal customer
satisfaction with Procurement organization including frequent reviews and buy in of internal
organization to future plans.
• Coordination of the ongoing supplier relationship ensuring relevant reviews and continuous
improvements occur with ongoing optimization of supply base.
• Develop a strong and wide vendor base for goods & services in his area of operation and provide cost
efficient sourcing solutions.
• Ensuring total cost of ownership for materials and services giving optimum value for money including
terms and conditions. Meeting and where possible exceeding budgeted cost reductions.
• Ensure sourcing and other procurement activities are compliant with SOX and appropriate our client
controls for segregation of duties and appropriate controls.
• Develop quantifying and mitigating supply risks.
• To publish on a monthly basis relevant performance metrics.
• Ownership and continuous improvement of Oracle ERP requisitioning and ordering through efficient
use of catalogues and agreements.
• Coach and develop the India and ROW teams
• Develop diverse leadership talent, participating in succession planning events.
• Create a learning organization, with department employees who continue to upgrade skills.
4. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPEREINCE/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/COMPETENCIES
• Qualified Engineering or Business degree, MBA preferred relevant experience in advanced sourcing
(both CAPEX & OPEX).
• At least 20 years’ experience in Procurement, preferably with a multinational corporation (focus on raw
materials, capital equipment and indirect spend) with experience in various spend categories such as
fuel, lubricants, mobile plant, MRO, PPE and others.
• Applicable training in procurement with membership of CIPs or equivalent an advantage.
• Strong understanding of the tax laws & import procedures. Hands on experience in Operations &
Projects will be an advantage.
• Proven track record of cost reduction, contract negotiation, cash flow optimization, supplier
management.
• Excellent negotiations skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple countries/regions. Ability to work with a wide and varied
internal stakeholders as well as the external supplier base. Ability to influence up, down and across de
organization.
• Proven track record to execute and deliver results.
• Strong business acumen.
• Experienced ERP user and especially JDE and Oracle R12.
5. REPORTING
This position will report to the Vice President Procurement our client Metals & Minerals and have a parallel
reporting line with the respective Regional Presidents for the business deliverables.
6. LOCATION
Hyderabad, India
7. OTHER
• Work experience in Gulf Countries / Overseas is highly desirable.
• Valid Passport and International Driving License are must.
